In the run up to Climate Week NYC, each week we focus on one of the ten themes that capture all the discussions, events and activations that make Climate Week NYC into the biggest climate event of its kind.
This week: Energy
A typical company’s supply chain is responsible for 80% of its emissions. These Scope 3 emissions are difficult for companies to first measure, and then manage. One Climate Week NYC event, hosted by Sam Stark, CEO & Founder of the carbon accounting platform Green Project Technologies, aims to tackle this challenge head on.
Their upcoming event will uncover how a collaborative way of working, and wider renewables use in a corporate supply chains, can be a “game-changer” (so says their event bio) for climate impact.
To find out more, we asked Sam five questions to get a quick-fire download on their Climate Week NYC event on 24 September.
Climate Week NYC is just around the corner. What’re you most looking forward to?
I’m excited to see the conversation shift from ambition to action — especially when it comes to decarbonizing supply chains. Climate Week NYC is a powerful moment to connect with peers and partners who are moving the needle.
Tell us, what do you have planned for your Climate Week NYC event?
We’re hosting a rooftop panel and happy hour focused on one of the biggest climate challenges: how to bring suppliers of all sizes into the renewable energy transition.
Expect expert insights from our panelists from S&P Global, EcoVadis, Supplier LOCT, and Scope 3 Peer Group – and a beautiful city view!
Why is renewables use in global supply chains so key?
That’s where the emissions are: for most companies, the majority of their carbon footprint lies in Scope 3. If we want to meet net zero goals together, we have to make it easier for suppliers to access clean energy, no matter their size or region.
What’s the one burning question your event will tackle? And what’s the solution?
How do we make renewable energy procurement scalable, accessible, and supplier-friendly? That’s the question. Our panel will explore practical answers – from tech solutions to procurement strategy – and show how companies can drive real Scope 3 impact, starting now.
And why are Climate Week NYC events like yours critical to unlocking renewables use in global supply chains?
Because these are not challenges that can be solved alone. Climate Week NYC gives us the space to share hard truths, bold ideas, and practical solutions. When sustainability, procurement, and technology leaders come together, real progress becomes possible.
